The "Snowstorm of the Century" forced eBay to re-issue seller protection, and sellers said it was too difficult!

It is reported that the northeastern United States suffered a blizzard on February 1, several states declared a state of emergency, thousands of flights were canceled, and logistics in the northeastern United States suffered a severe blow.

The United States is hit by the "snowstorm of the century", and logistics may be severely hit

Starting from January 31, snowflakes began to fall in the northeastern United States, and turned into a blizzard on February 1, with rain and snow and strong winds in many places. The local meteorological department predicted that this round of blizzard will last for two days and gradually stop from the 3rd.

As of February 1, the snow depth in parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania had reached 24 inches (68 centimeters) by that evening, and in parts of New York City it was 29 inches (43 centimeters). Some snowplows called it the "blizzard of the century."

The blizzard not only caused the closure of COVID-19 vaccination stations in many parts of the United States, but also caused power outages in some areas. Affected by the snowstorm, many places including New Jersey, multiple counties and cities in New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and others declared a state of emergency.

But if we talk about what the blizzard has the greatest impact on, it is undoubtedly transportation. As the blizzard in the northeastern United States intensifies, the logistics and transportation in the northeastern United States will definitely be affected, including the delivery of USPS, UPS and FedEx packages.

As the epidemic situation abroad has recurred and has not improved for a long time, cross-border logistics suppliers have been under long-term overload work. Coupled with the severe snowstorm weather, it will be difficult or even impossible for logistics companies to deliver packages to buyers on time.

eBay releases seller protection measures, sellers say it’s difficult! Difficult! Difficult!

On February 2, eBay, upon learning of the situation, released an announcement in the eBay community, stating that due to severe weather in the Northeast, sellers may experience shipping delays. eBay is closely monitoring the situation and recommends that sellers who are unable to ship inventory due to the blizzard communicate with consumers in a timely manner and inform them of the situation. If delays are expected, sellers should also extend the processing time on the listing.

Additionally, if your business is impacted, eBay will automatically protect your seller performance, including late shipment rate, valid tracking upload rate, and if the seller uploads tracking information and performs a physical scan before the buyer opens a case, then the "Item not received" case will not affect the seller's seller performance.

eBay also stated that it will delete all related negative and neutral feedback to prevent the situation from affecting the seller's service index rating. It is hard to count how many times eBay has issued seller protection measures. Taking into account the transportation delays caused by the epidemic and Brexit, the issue of whether the package can be delivered on time has troubled sellers for more than half a year.

In order to solve the logistics and transportation problems, the sellers almost burned incense at home. Unfortunately, this year is destined to be a year of disasters . The epidemic has not yet passed, and the blizzard is coming again. The sellers are calling it difficult! Difficult! Difficult! I just hope that after the Spring Festival, the sellers can usher in a new turnaround in the days of spring when the flowers are blooming.
