The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Commerce has cracked down on violations and has closed two independent website stores!

Another independent website store has been closed!

According to local media reports, two independent stores in Saudi Arabia recently provided false quotes to consumers and failed to deliver products to buyers within the legal period, violating e-commerce laws . For this reason, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce has blocked their online stores.

The cause of the incident is that the Saudi Ministry of Commerce received a complaint from a consumer about an independent website selling electronic devices. The website continued to sell products to consumers but kept delaying the delivery of orders .

The ministry blocked the site and processed 329 pending requests on the site involving total sales of more than 700,000 riyals (about $180,000) .

In addition, an independent website store sold smartphones with false quotes in the form of installment sales without permission , luring buyers to pay advance payments for the products, and immediately blocked these buyers after transferring the advance payments.

The Saudi Ministry of Commerce immediately blocked the website after detecting that the store was involved in deceiving and misleading consumers and falsely claiming to have obtained a license to engage in installment sales activities .

The Saudi Ministry of Commerce said it will continue to monitor illegal activities of independent stores to protect the rights of consumers and create a competitive and fair trading environment. The Ministry of Commerce will impose a fine of one million riyals (about $260,000) on illegal independent stores , block illegal sites and prevent such incidents from happening again .

The Saudi Ministry of Commerce called on traders to comply with the e-commerce system and its regulations . It also urged the public to buy goods from trustworthy stores and report violators through apps , phone calls or websites .

Coincidentally, XShoppy recently announced on its WeChat official account the illegal stores that it had closed in December last year.

According to XShoppy, in December last year , XShoppy froze and closed 1,555 illegal stores and 100 corporate centers that had violated the regulations multiple times .

Previously, Shoplazza also announced a list of illegal stores in November, and it had closed more than 500 stores in early November .

Obviously, independent websites are not outside the law. Illegal behaviors such as not shipping orders or not delivering goods as shown in the pictures are not allowed anywhere. Since sellers have chosen to build independent websites, it is the right way to make full use of the advantages of independent websites and concentrate on operating them well.
