PocketMoni is a Nigerian mobile money service that provides basic financial services to users with any type of mobile phone.

PocketMoni mobile money service was launched in 2010 and has since transformed the lives of its users, providing electronic wallets to the unbanked and underbanked

Users can load cash into their PocketMoni wallets at agent locations nationwide or via bank transfer, and can then send and receive remittances, buy mobile top-ups or pay bills.

PocketMoni Mobile Money works by turning your mobile phone into an electronic wallet. You can store funds in this electronic wallet, use it to pay for goods and services, transfer funds to other PocketMoni operators along with your bank account;

PocketMoni transactions are protected using 3DES encryption technology. Subscribers of the mobile money service also use a PIN to protect their PocketMoni transactions.

To use PocketMoni, subscribers must download and install the Java application. Therefore, the PocketMoni Mobile Money service requires a Java-enabled mobile phone.

How to top up your PocketMoni account?

One is to make a deposit through a PocketMoni mobile money agent. You deposit cash and the PocketMoni agent will credit your account. You can also visit a partner bank to make a deposit.

Current partner banks include Skye Bank, Union Bank, FCMB, UBA, FirstBank, Access Bank, Intercontinental Bank, Zenith Bank, GTBank, Oceanic Bank, Fidelity Bank and Keystone Bank.

The second one can also include Debit/ATM Card in Mobile Money App. It is possible to transfer money from your card to your PocketMoni Mobile Money Wallet.

Therefore, including a card in the app allows you to top up your mobile money e-wallet using a debit/ATM card. eTranzact debit cards as well as InterSwitch Verve, Visa and MasterCard can be added to your PocketMoni.
