About the International Fair for Trade in Services The China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services is a large-scale trade fair approved by the State Council and hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Beijing Municipal People's Government. It is referred to as the Beijing Fair. In recent years, the global trade in services has developed rapidly and has become a new driving force for world economic growth. It aims to build a global service trade transaction platform. Since 2012, it has been held in Beijing on May 28 every year for 5 days. The Beijing International Fair is positioned as a national, international, comprehensive service trade fair. It is the only comprehensive service trade transaction platform in the world that covers the 12 major areas of service trade defined by the World Trade Organization (including business services, communications services, construction and related engineering services, financial services, tourism and travel related services, entertainment, culture and sports services, transportation services, health and social services, education services, distribution services, environmental services, and other services).

Introduction to the functions of the International Service Trade Fair The first Beijing Trade Fair was successfully held at the National Convention Center from May 28 to June 1, 2012. It held more than 130 activities in six major sections, including the opening ceremony and summit forum, high-level forum, comprehensive exhibition, promotion and negotiation, theme day activities, and authoritative releases, focusing on 12 major areas of service trade. There were 1,721 Chinese and foreign exhibitors, 24,000 registered merchants from 83 countries and regions around the world, and more than 100,000 professional visitors. The total transaction volume was US$60.11 billion, of which US$11.2 billion was international service trade transactions. |
