About Knowlarity

·Knowlarity was founded in Gurgaon, India in 2009 by Gupta, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology. The company moved its headquarters to Singapore in 2013 and has offices in Dubai, Turkey and the Philippines; in addition, Knowlarity also has offices in Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bangalore. Knowlarity currently has more than 550 employees worldwide.

With more than 15,000 customers in 65 countries, Knowlarity is the largest cloud communications provider in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Knowlarity currently serves customers in several emerging markets, including Google, Amazon, Uber, Practo, Ola, Zomato, Swiggy and Gaadi.

Knowlarity's cloud-based telephony solution establishes an inbound call center to facilitate connections with customers. All a business needs is an internet connection and a phone to conduct business, and Knowlarity's cloud technology provides seamless operations for businesses with offices in multiple locations.

Knowlarity's cloud phone platform can handle up to 2 million calls per day and more during peak periods. The call center solution can support a 30-seat inbound call setup to replace traditional wired switch connections and customer service supervisors. Its features include monitoring, SLA tracking, agent performance reporting, agent availability status, and agent end time.


Background

Knowlarity was founded in 2009 by IIT, Kanpur alumni Ambarish Gupta and Pallav Pandey.

Founder and former CEO Ambarish Gupta graduated in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur. He started his career in Computer Graphics at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany and later joined Electronics Industries Ventures.

Ambarish Gupta later earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and worked as a senior associate at McKinsey & Company.

In 2009, Ambarish attracted the emerging cloud telephony space and launched Knowlarity Communications with the aim of providing cloud communications solutions to enterprises.


Development History

-Knowlarity was founded in 2009.

-In 2011, Knowlarity received seed round financing from Emergic Ventures and Progressivist Investment Capital. The specific amount was not disclosed.

-In 2012, Knowlarity received Series A funding, with Sequoia Capital investing $6.5 million.

-In 2014, Knowlarity received $16 million in Series B funding from Mayfield Fund and Sequoia Capital.

-In May 2016, Knowlarity acquired customer engagement platform Smartwards.

- In November 2016, it received US$20 million in Series C funding, led by Dubai private capital company Delta Partners, with participation from previous investors Sequoia India and Mayfield Venture Partners, and small bond investments from Blacksoil and Trifecta Capital.

-In 2018, Knowlarity acquired Sunoray Solutions' cloud telephony business.
