On September 10, at the 2024 Cainiao Global Smart Logistics Summit, Yi Yun, General Manager of AliExpress Logistics Supply Chain, said that the cross-border supply chain has entered a stage of improving efficiency, quality and speed. On the one hand, AliExpress is committed to helping merchants improve their operating efficiency; on the other hand, it continues to upgrade the fulfillment service experience on the consumer side, and the cross-border package delivery time is shortened by more than 50% compared to 2022.
On the merchant efficiency side, AliExpress Supply Chain provides a series of tools, combined with AI and intelligent algorithms, to help merchants improve product efficiency and make operations simpler. For example, the recently launched self-replenishment function allows merchants to flexibly adjust their replenishment quantity and rhythm based on market trends and product demand, quickly respond to market changes, and enhance competitiveness.
In addition, AliExpress has strengthened its service guarantee for merchants and launched the "Warehouse and Delivery Difference Center" product, which can automatically generate service orders for problems encountered by merchants during the warehousing process, allowing merchants to track processing progress and help merchants solve problems in one stop.
In terms of consumer experience, AliExpress has continued to speed up its cooperation with Cainiao, its "partner for going overseas", and its "Global Five-Day Delivery" international express product has been expanded to 14 countries. In addition, AliExpress has further integrated its warehousing network, so that parcels sent to the same overseas region are gathered in the same warehouse as much as possible, reducing the intermediate transfer process. It is estimated that the warehouse-to-shipment time is improved by 5 hours compared with the original.
In addition to the increase in speed, AliExpress has also opened more dedicated lines for more categories, such as a line for transporting large items of furniture and home furnishings, a line for pet food, and a line for beauty products, allowing overseas consumers to purchase a richer and higher-quality range of Chinese products.
