Good news! Amazon lowers the service fee for sellers

Previously , Amazon officially announced that it will officially open the SFP ( Seller Fulfilled Prime ) program on October 1, 2023 , and will accept new applications from sellers.

Recently, according to the latest news from Bloomberg, Amazon may reduce the fee for sellers by 2% when the service is officially opened on October 1.

As early as June this year, Amazon announced that it would restart the SFP program, and released more specific details in August, stating that the service would be officially opened on October 1.

However, the entry threshold of the new Amazon SFP program is very high, and not all sellers meet the entry criteria of the program. Of course, not all sellers are willing to participate in the program.

According to the information published by Amazon on its website, sellers must meet the following thresholds to join Amazon’s SFP program:

1. Ability to provide priority delivery options

2. The on-time delivery rate of orders is over 99%

3. Order cancellation rate is less than 0.5%

4. At least 99% of orders use Amazon Buy Shipping Services

5. Cover all standard sizes nationwide in the United States

6. Use a shipping method that supports weekend delivery and pickup (Saturday or Sunday)

7. Achieve 1-day and 2-day delivery commitments

8. Use Amazon’s approved Seller Fulfilled Prime carriers to deliver your orders

9. Sellers must agree to Amazon’s return policy

10. Allow all customer service inquiries to be handled by Amazon

On Wednesday, some media reported that Amazon's decision to cut its SFP fees by 2% may be related to an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission.

However, sellers do not seem to be interested in this service and the news of the rate reduction. One Amazon seller said that sellers are actually very confused now, because to join the SFP program, sellers need to provide the fastest delivery service and a generous return policy, which will undoubtedly increase the operating costs of sellers. From this perspective, there is no benefit in joining the program.

In response to this issue, Amazon said that sellers participating in SFP will be able to display the Prime badge on their products, which will attract more consumers to place orders and boost sales.
