Two Amazon best-selling products were recalled, and 200,000 products were affected!

Two Amazon best-selling products were recalled, and 200,000 products were affected!

Recently, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC) once again issued a product recall notice, announcing the recall of two problematic products sold on online platforms such as Amazon. At the same time, the Canadian Ministry of Health also recalled the two products.

1. Boon Flair & Flair Elite High Chair

According to the CPSC's notice, the product was distributed in the United States by the toy and baby products company TOMY, with a total of 83,000 sold in the United States and 2,850 sold in Canada. The product originated in China.

According to the notice, the reason for the recall is that the bolts responsible for fixing the high chair may loosen, causing the seat to fall off. As of August 24, 2023, a total of 34 accident reports and 11 injury reports have been received in the United States.

This recall involves products manufactured before September 1, 2016. The affected models are B701, B702, B703, B704, B706, B707, B708, B709, B716, B717, B718, B731, B751, B10147, B11068, B11069 and B11401.

The CPSC said the high chairs were sold online through Amazon, Target, Walmart and the BedBathAndBeyond website, and in stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Target and Toys 'R' Us.

The CPSC reminds consumers who have purchased the high chair to stop using it immediately. Tomy said consumers do not have to return the product, but need to contact the company in time to receive a free product repair kit.

2. Prime-Line Glass Door Handle

On the same day, Prime-Line glass door handles, also from China, were also recalled .

The reason is that the glass door handle has the risk of breaking, and the door handle assembly may separate, which may cause cuts to consumers. So far, this product has caused five injuries in the United States, and the wounds need to be treated with stitches.

The notice shows that about 167,000 of the products were sold in the United States and more than 10,000 in Canada. According to Prime-Line's recall page, four of the accidents occurred during installation and one occurred the day after installation.

These door handles all feature fluted glass handles and are sold in bronze, brass, satin nickel, matte black and chrome finishes.

The recalled models include: E 2279; E 2279-L; E 2311; E 2317; E 2328; E 2496; E 2497; E 2536; E 2536-L; E 2537; E 2537-L, E 2750 and E 2797. The model number can be found on the upper right side of the packaging.

The notice shows that the product was sold in home improvement stores across the United States and shopping websites such as Amazon and Wayfair from February 2022 to April 2023, with prices ranging from US$20 to US$45.

In addition, according to a notice from the Canadian Ministry of Health, no injury reports have been received in Canada for the above two products.
