The US government is suppressing Amazon! Amazon may face a lawsuit at the end of this month

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission may file a lawsuit against Amazon later this month after the company did not try to respond to antitrust allegations by offering concessions , the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter .

The report added that the lawsuit will target the company's logistics plans, Amazon's delivery services and pricing by third-party sellers on its website, and will propose "structural remedies" that could break up the company.

Data shows that Amazon's stock price has risen about 63% from its low this year , but Amazon's stock price fell slightly by 0.4% in after-hours trading after the news was released.

It is understood that the investigation began during the administration of former President Donald Trump , when the government decided to investigate technology companies such as Amazon, Google and Apple for suspected violations of antitrust laws.

Amazon has long been widely criticized for allegedly favoring its own products on its platform and suppressing third-party sellers, but the company has denied the allegations one by one.

FTC Chairwoman Lina Khan wrote an article for the Yale Law Journal in 2017 in which she said Amazon's structure and practices "raise concerns that it is likely violating anticompetitive laws and escaping antitrust scrutiny."

In June, U.S. regulators sued Amazon, alleging the company enrolled millions of consumers in its $139-a-year paid subscription service Prime without their consent and made it difficult for them to cancel the plan.

When contacted by Business Insider, both Amazon and the FTC declined to comment.
