174,300 Christmas mailboxes recalled due to risk of cutting injuries!

As Christmas approaches, consumers will also increase their searches for related Christmas products, such as "Letters to Santa Mailbox".

Searching on Google Trends, the search volume for "Letters to Santa Mailbox" in the United States has been on the rise since early October this year, which shows that its popularity remains high.

However, the quality of Christmas mailboxes produced by different manufacturers varies. Now that Christmas holiday promotions are in full swing, a Christmas mailbox has been urgently recalled by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) because of the risk of cutting.

The editor learned from the CPSC official website that the recalled Christmas mailboxes are about 7 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 10 inches high, and are available in red and white. The words "Letters to Santa" are printed on the front of the mailboxes in white or black.

This mailbox was sold at Target for $5 each from October to November this year. In just two months, Target sold 174,300 of them. It can be seen that this is a hot-selling product.

However, the CPSC found that the mail slot on this Christmas mailbox is sharp and poses a risk of cutting. Target has received 9 complaints about sharp mail slots and 7 reports of cuts, 3 of which required medical attention. For this reason, the CPSC said an urgent recall is needed, involving product numbers 234-17-8556 and 234-20-9275. It is reported that this product is produced by a domestic manufacturer.

Currently, Target has removed the product from its shelves. The editor browsed through Target's other Christmas mailbox product pages and found a user commenting: The reason I want to buy a Christmas mailbox is that I want my children to have a traditional Christmas. Having such a mailbox can make the process of filling out the wish list for children feel like a ritual.

On Amazon, where most sellers are, searching for "Santa Mailbox" will bring up more than a thousand results. It can be seen that many sellers are also planning to launch this type of product. Some products have been exposed to have the risk of cutting, so sellers should pay attention to this issue. In addition, looking through some reviews, it is found that consumers also complain that the words on the mailbox are not printed clearly.

It is the busy time for Christmas sales, so everyone had better be in high spirits, after all, this is the last "big day" of the year.
