Data from Cainiao International Express and AliExpress' preferred warehouse inventory show that the inventory of "sunglasses" related categories has increased by more than 10 times year-on-year recently. The hot summer has also boosted the popularity of "water" related categories, such as children's water guns, garden watering cans, gardening hoses, cycling water bottles and other related categories. The inventory has also increased several times year-on-year.

Cainiao Vice President Ding Hongwei mentioned that Cainiao's way out is to improve efficiency and optimize timeliness through digital technology, and better serve merchants and consumers, such as through intelligent order consolidation engines, intelligent box cutting algorithms, and automated distribution centers.
Recently, the World Trade Organization ( WTO) held a seminar in Geneva, Switzerland on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the logistics industry and its response. Ding Hongwei, vice president of Cainiao, was invited to attend the meeting. He shared Cainiao's successful cases and leading experience in the field of digital logistics and supply chain, and analyzed the three major trends in the future of cross-border logistics.
He believes that with the continuous development of the cross-border e-commerce industry, future logistics, especially cross-border logistics, must have three major characteristics: full-link, high controllability and digitalization , to meet the requirements of overseas consumers for timeliness and certainty, and play a vital role in peak seasons and various promotional activities.
