More than 300 charter flights speed up cross-border logistics, and Cainiao helps Chinese products go overseas during Double 11

On October 25, in order to ensure that cross-border merchants can have certain logistics timeliness during the upcoming Tmall Double 11 and better realize the "export of domestic products overseas", Cainiao Network announced a number of measures during the Double 11 period, including more than 300 charter flights, the launch of seven overseas distribution centers, smart order consolidation covering 50 countries, "late compensation" service and full-service fulfillment of preferred warehouses, etc. Merchants will not only feel the continuous reduction in logistics costs throughout the year, but also feel that the global parcel network has accelerated the logistics timeliness of domestic products exporting overseas and improved the experience for overseas consumers.

 

More charter flights around the world, late compensation online, combined orders covering 50 countries  

 

During the Double 11 period, Cainiao will use more than 300 charter flights to help Chinese cross-border merchants realize the "export of domestic products". The cargo capacity is expected to exceed 30,000 tons. Taking the rapidly growing South American region as an example, charter flights have increased from 3 flights a week before Double 11 last year to 7 flights per week recently, and it is expected to increase significantly during the Double 11 period.

 

In order to ensure the timely delivery of packages and further enhance the shopping experience of overseas consumers, Cainiao Global Parcel Network provides cross-border merchants with a "late compensation" guarantee. That is, when overseas consumers purchase an X-day delivery order with an official warehouse label, they can see the estimated delivery time of the package. If it is not delivered within the displayed time, overseas consumers can receive corresponding experience compensation.

 

Domestic warehouse and delivery business continues to upgrade. Cainiao Preferred Warehouse has launched a full-service fulfillment service, which can support the stocking, quality inspection, coding, assembly, box change and other operations of export e-commerce logistics, and can also realize automatic order flow, fast logistics fulfillment and automatic customer service services, saving the time and cost of merchants to build their own warehouses, so that they can focus more on product design and overseas marketing.   


"From the initial bonded warehouse to the current preferred warehouse and official overseas warehouse, merchants only need to hand over the goods to the platform warehouse. The subsequent delivery, customs clearance, and fulfillment are all completed by Cainiao and AliExpress. This provides us with a lower-cost and more efficient cross-border logistics solution." Zang Yang, head of AliExpress for Anker Innovations, an overseas brand company, said that currently Anker's cross-border orders on the AliExpress platform are basically issued through Cainiao's preferred warehouse, and there is almost no need to occupy self-built warehouse resources.

The biggest help is that the online rate of the store has increased from 90% to 99%. The improvement of logistics timeliness has reduced logistics disputes, increased the interaction between merchants and customers, and the number of product reviews has grown rapidly. The activities of the Preferred Warehouse have also increased the exposure of new products and potential hot products. "

 

The previously completed East China logistics warehouse and smart order consolidation will also play a huge role in this Double 11. Smart order consolidation will cover 50 countries around the world during this year's Double 11, and through the scale effect, it will upgrade the logistics efficiency of cross-border parcels and help more overseas consumers "buy more and get them faster."

 

Taobao APP in Singapore has also been upgraded. Cainiao provides consumers with smarter judgment capabilities during the warehouse integration stage . It can evaluate information such as the size, weight and product type of the package to determine the transportation cost, and combine big data analysis to analyze historical shopping habits and automatically recommend the best logistics solution. Consumers can flexibly switch between transportation modes based on the timeliness, cost and size of their packages. Before the warehouse merges all packages for customs clearance and export, consumers can compare air and sea freight costs and their corresponding transportation time, and enjoy more transparent logistics services.

 

Seven overseas distribution centers are online, cross-border packages reach consumers faster

 

Before Double 11, the seven distribution centers of Cainiao Global Parcel Network located in Liege, Belgium, Madrid, Spain, Paris, France, Bremen, Germany, Rome, Italy, Budapest, Hungary , and Moscow, Russia will be officially put into use.

 

Taking the French distribution center as an example, the center is located in Paris, covers an area of ​​nearly 20,000 square meters, and adopts a fully automated sorting mode and professional sorting equipment, and also uses a self-developed intelligent distribution system. It is expected that the sorting cost will be reduced by more than 50%, and it can handle more than 200,000 cross-border small packages and about 30,000 cross-border large packages per day.

 

At present, the peak sorting capacity of the four distribution centers in Spain, France, Germany and Italy is about 500,000 parcels per day. And for large cross-border parcels, the peak processing capacity reaches 3,000 pieces per hour.

 

Cainiao's Russian distribution center is located in Moscow, covering an area of ​​nearly 20,000 square meters. The center adopts a fully automated sorting mode and professional sorting equipment, and also uses a self-developed intelligent distribution system. At present, the distribution center has completed the first phase of production and can handle 150,000 cross-border parcels per day. After full production, it will be able to handle 300,000 cross-border parcels per day. During the promotion period, the daily peak processing capacity will reach nearly 500,000. In addition to the distribution center, Cainiao has built the first kilometer, trunk transportation and regional distribution networks in Russia . After the distribution center went online, Cainiao's overall infrastructure network in the local area has been initially formed .

 

In addition, Cainiao's global logistics hub, eHub in Liege, Belgium , will also be officially opened during Double 11. The eHub will introduce smart cargo stations, smart distribution center systems and other automated equipment to greatly improve the efficiency of e-commerce package warehousing and distribution between China and Europe.

 

With distribution centers in various countries as the core, Cainiao has built a local delivery network for efficient cross-border package transportation through card shifts, on-site distribution, and self-pickup cabinets and points, further optimizing the entire chain of cross-border packages from China to consumers.

 

The global logistics network continues to be built to further enhance the shopping experience

 

According to the latest data from Liege Airport, the imports from China this year increased by 40% between March 15 and April 7. Christian Dericou, spokesman for Liege Airport in Belgium, mentioned in an interview before that " in 2017, our airport handled 300,000 e-commerce packages, and now it has increased to 548 million."

 

The digital global logistics network is the key to cross-border e-commerce's rapid fulfillment.

 

Taking cross-border parcels sold to Eastern Europe as an example, the parcels will be collected and transported to Zhengzhou and other airports, then flown to Budapest, sorted at the distribution center, and transported to neighboring countries through Cainiao's European shuttle, completing the last mile of delivery. After the Budapest distribution center goes online, in conjunction with Cainiao's previous direct cargo flights and digital customs clearance system, it will further shorten logistics time and improve operational efficiency. The time required for local flights to land at the customs clearance warehouse to complete daily warehouse operations will be increased by 19%, and the time required during the Double 11 period will be increased by 31% .

 

Currently, Cainiao's European truck network has covered more than 30 countries, with a transportation capacity of more than 80 vehicles per day. The overall dispatch scale during Double 11 will be nearly 3,000 vehicles.

 

Recently, Cainiao's Polish fulfillment center was officially launched. The fulfillment center is located in Lodz, close to Warsaw, with a total area of ​​more than 10,000 square meters . It has two functions: an overseas warehouse and a distribution center. The overseas warehouse has been officially put into use, and the distribution center is expected to be officially put into use in March next year. The planned production capacity of the Polish overseas warehouse is 10,000 orders per day, and it is expected to reach 6,000 orders per day before Double 11. The main stocked categories include electronic products, maternal and child products, and motorcycle accessories.

 

In Europe alone, Cainiao has more than 100,000 square meters of overseas export warehouses, including Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, Spain and other countries, covering the 24 EU countries and the entire United Kingdom. It takes 3 days to arrive in the country where the official warehouse is located, and 7 days to deliver across Europe, and can process 100,000 orders every day.

 

At the same time, Cainiao has also widely deployed self-pickup cabinets and self-pickup points overseas to provide consumers with optional self-pickup services, improve the shopping experience and reduce carbon emissions in the last mile. Before Double 11, Cainiao plans to deploy nearly 5,000 sets of self-built self-pickup cabinets overseas to provide overseas consumers with a contactless pickup mode. In addition, it will also work with partners to provide self-pickup cabinets and self-pickup point pickup services.

We hope to further leverage the advantages of Cainiao's global parcel network to help more domestic products go overseas and provide better services, especially during the Double 11 period, so that merchants and overseas consumers can feel the acceleration of cross-border logistics. " Xiong Wei, assistant to the president of Cainiao and general manager of the export logistics division, told reporters that the peak processing capacity of Cainiao's domestic distribution center has exceeded 10 million orders, and its cross-border parcel network business covers more than 200 cities across the country, and has established more than 50 collection warehouses in important cities across the country.

 

In March 2021, the average daily cross-border parcel volume of Cainiao's global parcel network exceeded 5 million pieces, continuing to rank among the top four in the world. Among them, the "5 US dollars in 10 days" logistics product has covered European countries such as Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, etc., and is expected to cover 20 countries around the world this year , allowing more merchants to deliver to the world with the money for a cup of coffee.
