To help sellers sell, Facebook launches holiday shopping event

In an announcement on Oct. 11 , Facebook said its holiday shopping event will begin on Nov. 1, during which Facebook will offer live shopping events every day. “Whether you’re interested in shopping from emerging e-commerce brands or traditional retailers, we’ll have experiences for you this holiday season , a company spokesperson said.

 

It is understood that during the event, Facebook and Instagram will offer live shopping events from brands such as Benefit Cosmetics (makeup brand), Cocokind (beauty brand), Macy's, Paintbox Nails (nail brand), Tanya Taylor (fashion brand), Ulta Beauty (beauty brand), Vuori (sportswear brand) and Walmart. According to Facebook, during the live broadcast, exclusive discounts and offers from these brands will be provided, and consumers will be allowed to interact with celebrities, designers and brand experts during the live broadcast. Consumers can use Facebook Pay to complete purchases directly on the app.

 

Facebook also offers exclusive gifts to consumers who shop on its platform . When consumers check out directly on Facebook or Instagram and complete eligible purchases, they can get gifts. For example, they can enjoy a 20% discount and free shipping on their first purchase . In addition, consumers can share it with up to 10 friends to enjoy exclusive offers.

 

In addition to providing discounts for consumers, Facebook said it will also provide support for small and medium-sized businesses. It will launch the second plan of "Boost with Facebook": Good Ideas Season. It will provide small and medium-sized enterprises with free resources and training to help them improve sales during the holidays.

 

"As part of Good Ideas Season , we’re opening Good Ideas Shops in communities across the US . Starting this week, people in Seattle, Fort Worth, and New York City can visit our storefronts and pop-ups to discover local businesses and shop their products on Facebook and Instagram," a Facebook spokesperson said.

 

In the announcement, Facebook also announced the top five most popular product categories on Facebook Marketplace . Among them, the top five categories in the United States include: home furnishings; furniture ; baby and children's products; women's shoes; cars, trucks and motorcycles.
