Up to 10,000 yuan! Guangzhou provides subsidies for overseas patents and trademarks

The application for Guangzhou’s overseas patent and trademark subsidies has begun, sellers must not miss it!

Recently, the Guangzhou Administration for Market Regulation issued the " Guidelines for Application for Guangzhou Intellectual Property Special Funds (Subsidies) in 2022" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guidelines"). Among them, the maximum subsidy for overseas patents can reach 8,000 yuan, and the maximum subsidy for trademarks can reach 10,000 yuan!

The editor learned that the subsidy will be available to entities and individuals who obtained patents and trademarks between January 1 and June 30 this year . In addition, applicants need to meet one of the following conditions: Guangzhou companies, individuals with Guangzhou household registration/residence permits, and full-time students in Guangzhou .

The amount of subsidy varies by type and region, and is as follows:

In terms of patents, those who obtain invention patents from the European Patent Office will receive the highest subsidy amount, 8,000 yuan per patent; those who obtain invention patents from the United States or Japan will receive a subsidy of 4,000 yuan per patent; and those who obtain invention patents from other countries or regions will receive a subsidy of 1,000 yuan per patent.

It should be noted that Guangzhou will not provide funding if the patent owner changes after the patent is granted. In addition, the "Guidelines" also reminds that those who have not paid the annual fee should pay it quickly and then submit the subsidy application.

In terms of trademarks, if a trademark registration certificate is obtained through the Madrid system and approved for registration by each designated country, subsidies will be provided according to the number of designated countries or regions , with a subsidy of 1,000 yuan for each designated country or region . However, the maximum subsidy for each trademark cannot exceed 10,000 yuan .

In addition to obtaining trademark registration certificates through the Madrid System, those who obtain registration certificates through the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI), and the African Regional Industrial Property Organization (ARIPO) will receive a subsidy of 3,000 yuan for each .

Similarly, applications for renewal, change, transfer, etc. are not covered by the trademark subsidy. In addition, trademarks that are being applied for, reviewed, or not approved for registration are also not covered by the subsidy.

Qualified sellers can apply now, and the application deadline is October 29. Sellers who need to know more details can also go to the Guangzhou Market Supervision and Administration Bureau ( http://scjgj.gz.gov.cn/zwdt/tzgg/content/post_7816318.html).
