Amazon has another bug? Fraudulent accounts "help" users to automatically place orders

Yesterday, according to foreign media reports, the second case of fraudulent Amazon accounts sending purchases to victims was discovered in Tennessee, USA.

According to Chelsey Luster, she first received an Amazon package containing a weighing scale, and then another Amazon package containing AA batteries. Then more and more Amazon packages kept pouring in, including clothes, fitness products, etc. Chelsey Luster found that these products were paid for through her bank account, but she did not order any of the products.

Later, Chelsey Luster asked Amazon for details. An Amazon staff member said that Chelsey Luster had a second account with her name, credit card number, mailing address and other personal information. But Chelsey Luster said that she had only one Amazon account from beginning to end.

This is the second case of a fraudulent Amazon account forcing buyers to consume in Tennessee. Dr. Michelle Fiscus, a vaccine expert in the state , said Amazon created a fraudulent Amazon account in her name and forced her to buy items. Amazon later confirmed that it had indeed created a fraudulent account without her permission.

At present, the victim has decided to appeal together with the bank, stating that he did not order these goods and refusing to be responsible for the incident.

An Amazon spokesperson said: "We have resolved the customer's issue, refunded their fees, and taken protective action on the relevant account. Amazon will take steps to prevent the use of stolen account and payment information on the platform. Amazon recommends that all consumers also take precautions to protect their personal information and strengthen management in accordance with the terms of help provided by Amazon."

In addition, Amazon emphasized in a statement that there are no loopholes in Amazon's system security.

With the peak season approaching, a large number of consumers will flock to the e-commerce platform, which will inevitably have a certain impact on the system. It is understandable that Amazon has made such a mistake. However, this also proves that the sales situation during this peak season is very good, so sellers should just enjoy it.
