Data shows that many categories of prestige cosmetics have seen significant sales growth as consumers repurchase key makeup essentials. Among them, tinted moisturizer is the most popular product, with sales increasing by 267%, followed by foundation (+253%) and bronzer (+173%).

 

Some time ago, because the government required the wearing of masks, consumers' demand for makeup was restricted to a certain extent, which led to a concentrated demand for eye cosmetics during this period.

 

The survey found that during this period, sales of mascara increased by 287%, eyeliner increased by 283%, and false eyelashes increased by 307%. Distinctive eye makeup became popular, such as the all-time popular fox eye makeup .

 

It can be seen that although the epidemic has limited consumers' desire to wear makeup, people have not completely rejected the consumption of cosmetics. In comparison, makeup has shifted towards a natural and simple direction.

 

However, as restrictions were eased, the British pursued more refined makeup and the demand for lip makeup increased. Data showed that total sales of lip products increased by 190%, of which lip liners increased by 434% and lip gloss increased by 185%.

 

Although the epidemic in the UK is still in the stage of recurring, not wearing masks has become the norm in the UK. The demand for daily cosmetics as well as clothing and footwear has also increased, and this growth trend is expected to continue.

 

In addition to the demand for makeup, the British have also begun to pay attention to self-care . Since the outbreak, about 30% of British people have invested more time in self-care, such as skin care, hair removal and facial care, and have paid more attention to home care and health in general.

 

In addition, because of long-term home working, people's concerns about weight gain have intensified, and weight loss related products have also entered the market. According to a report from the British consumer regulator the day before yesterday, dozens of weight loss pills on e-commerce platforms such as eBay, Wish, and AliExpress have been removed from the shelves because their inherent ingredients contain potential risks. From a market entry point, it is okay, but sellers must also pay attention to the compliance of the products.
