Delta virus spreads in the US, Amazon postpones employees' return to work until 2022

Amazon has told its U.S. corporate employees not to return to the office until next year as the coronavirus continues to spread.

The e-commerce giant had previously asked employees to work from home until September 7, but now it will be extended to January 3, 2022, a delay of about four months.

According to the editor, Amazon released the latest guidelines for employees to return to work in June, which stipulates that vaccinated employees can choose not to wear masks, but others must wear them.

Amazon also mentioned in its return-to-work guide that employees can expect a hybrid work model, combining three days of office work and two days of working from home.

It is reported that while Amazon postponed its return to work , other companies are considering how to get employees back to the office . Microsoft, Google and Facebook have recently announced that their employees can only return to work after being vaccinated .

Amazon , for its part , has said it will not force its employees to get vaccinated , and its requirement for unvaccinated employees to wear masks also makes its position clear .

It is understood that many Amazon employees, including its warehouse and Whole Foods employees , have been working on the front lines during the epidemic . Amazon mentioned in its October 20 report that between March 1 and September 19 , 2020 , nearly 20,000 of its front-line employees tested positive for nucleic acid or were diagnosed as positive.

In addition to Amazon, two US financial institutions, BlackRock and Wells Fargo, also announced that they would postpone their return to work.

BlackRock postponed its return to work by one month to October 1; while Wells Fargo postponed the time from September 7 to October 4, it also announced that it would provide each employee with eight hours of paid leave so that they could get vaccinated.

In addition, Walmart and Uber have required their management to be vaccinated; investment giant Vanguard also said on Wednesday that it will reward vaccinated employees with $1,000.

This wave of Delta coronavirus is coming fiercely, and now both at home and abroad are in dire straits. The editor reminds everyone that due to the strong transmission of Delta virus, everyone must do a good job of personal daily protection, wear masks scientifically, wash hands frequently, ventilate frequently, maintain social distance, and stay at home unless necessary.
