Number of sellers on Amazon UK surges 20% to 65,000

On July 14, according to foreign media Chaged, last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of merchants and consumers flocked to the Amazon platform, prompting the number of British sellers with sales of more than 1 million pounds to reach more than 1,000 .

Relevant data shows that in the past year, the number of sellers on Amazon UK has surged by 20% to 65,000 . In addition, 60% of the products sold on the platform are sold by third-party sellers.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of registered sellers on the Amazon platform has continued to grow, and sales have continued to hit new highs. Last year, the average sales of Amazon's third-party sellers jumped 50% to £300,000 . It is understood that about 30,000 sellers use Amazon's logistics services.

In this regard, Tom Lloyd, co-founder of Amazon UK seller Bloomsbury Mill , said: Although we are creative and can develop business strategies, Amazon has played a key role in the growth of our business. It not only provides us with a stable e-commerce platform, but also provides strong logistics services to help us expand our European business.

Although Amazon's sales grew by a whopping 44.1% last year , that rapid growth is no longer going away, with growth expected to slow significantly this year, but still well above expectations.

Taking the United States as an example, according to data released by Insider Intelligence , Amazon's e-commerce sales in the United States are expected to grow by 15.3% this year to US$367.1 billion. In addition, Amazon's share of the US e-commerce market is expected to increase from 39.8% to 40.4% .

Moreover, the platform expects that this year, Amazon's sales in all e-commerce areas in the United States, except auto parts, will increase by more than a quarter.

In addition, the study also shows that Amazon accounts for 83.2% of all e-commerce book, music and video sales in the United States , and 50.2% of consumer electronics , which shows how high Amazon's penetration rate is among the American people.

In short, Amazon still has huge potential in the European and American e-commerce markets. I hope that all merchants will make good use of this platform to build their own product advantages.
