Flipkart now has seven warehouses and 152 distribution centers in West Bengal alone, with a warehousing area of ​​more than 1 million square feet and more than 50,000 employees. Senior officials of the e-commerce giant Flipkart said that the second largest center in the state is located in Dankuni and is currently strengthening the supply chain in the east to meet the growing demand in the region. With the launch of this new hub, the center will create nearly 3,500 direct jobs and the company will continue to support small and medium enterprises in the region.

West Bengal Secretary said: “Flipkart’s continued investment in the state is a testament to the fact that it is not only helping to create jobs but also providing a safe mode of delivery to consumers. We hope that it will further create more opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.”

Meanwhile, the e-commerce pioneer has also internally provided unlimited health insurance to its full-time employees, an updated policy that covers all medical expenses and hospitalisation expenses, without the employees having to pay any premium for it.

It will also support the educational needs of two children of the deceased employee at Rs 1.2 lakh per year for each child. This support will continue until the child turns 22. Flipkart will sponsor and extend medical insurance for the family for 60 months.
