Shopify: One-click checkout service "Shop Pay" will cover all merchants on Facebook and Google

E-commerce platform Shopify recently announced that it will provide its one-click checkout service called " Shop Pay " to all US merchants selling on Facebook or Google - even if the merchants do not use the Shopify platform to build their independent websites .

After the expansion of the "Shop Pay" service, non- Shopify platform merchants can also choose to use the "Shop Pay" service in their own Facebook or Google stores . Shopify said that the " Shop Pay " service will become its first product provided to non- Shopify merchants.

The " Shop Pay " service was launched in 2017 , providing a simpler way to pay online by reducing the number of fields users must fill out during the checkout process. The service remembers and encrypts the user 's information, allowing consumers to check out with just one tap when shopping online . Today's " Shop Pay " service even supports installment payments.

Shopify said that the " Shop Pay " service shortened checkout time by 70% and increased conversion rate by 1.72 times.

" Since its launch , Shop Pay has optimized the checkout experience and facilitated more than $24 billion in orders," said Carl Rivera, vice president of Shopify, in an interview . "Studies show that nearly 20% of payment cancellations are due to complex checkout processes. Shop Pay makes this process fast and simple."

Shopify said it will enable Shop Pay for all U.S. merchants selling on Facebook in the coming months and will expand the service to all Google merchants by the end of 2021.

In February this year , Shopify cooperated with Facebook to expand the " Shop Pay " service to Facebook and Instagram , but at that time it was only applicable to Shopify merchants who sold on these social platforms . In May this year , Google announced an e-commerce cooperation with Shopify, and more than 1.7 million Shopify merchants will be able to advertise through Google Search and other Google products . It is reported that Facebook and Google are currently the two most popular advertising platforms for Shopify merchants .

Whether the "Shop Pay" service can be extended to merchants in other regions including China, the results of this promotion among merchants across the United States will be worth looking forward to.
