Highlight the key points! Consumers have these needs when shopping online...

SlickText conducted an online survey of more than 1,000 American consumers at the beginning of this year. The results found that consumers' preferences for shopping and communication have changed significantly under the influence of the epidemic. Sellers, come and find out!


1. Shopping destination selection


When asked, “What has the greatest influence on your choice of shopping destination?”, almost half (49.46%) of consumers chose free shipping , far outweighing store loyalty programs (28.71%), limited-time offers (12%) and advertising (4.82%).


2. Online shopping experience


When asked, "What is the most important aspect of online shopping during COVID-19?", consumers gave the following answers↓


 

It can be found that consumers rank accurate shipping updates as the most important aspect of online shopping, followed by an easy payment experience and discount offers.


So, brands can take the opportunity to build trust with consumers by sending customers shipping timelines and clearly stating how and when to contact them with order updates.


3. Online communication


It goes without saying that brands must engage with consumers, but sellers also need to consider how often they send messages and through what medium.


When asked, “What makes you most likely to stop interacting with a brand during the pandemic , consumers’ top reason for abandoning communication was receiving messages from brands too frequently , followed by receiving political content and cold messages.


 

When asked, " How has the way you read emails from brands changed during the pandemic? ", about a third of respondents ( 35.64%) said they were less likely to read emails from brands, and only 9.36% said they would often read emails from brands.


When asked , “What kind of messages do you want to receive?” consumers prefer content that is quick to read and states only the facts, followed by messages that are easy to open and send quickly.


Under the influence of the epidemic, consumers are doing more online shopping, which has also put higher demands on online sellers. Sellers should also pay more attention to changes in consumer demand and adjust their strategies in a timely manner.
