With over 50 million downloads and 10 million monthly active users, Shpock is very popular in Europe

Shpock is an online trading platform from London, UK, mainly used for trading idle items between individual users, similar to domestic platforms such as Xianyu. Since its establishment, Shpock has continuously improved the platform website and mobile applications to improve the user experience.

The app was officially launched in 2016. In the past five years, Shpock has established a firm foothold in the European market, with the number of APP downloads breaking records and exceeding 50 million. The Shpock market currently has more than 10 million active users, making it one of the top ten most popular e-commerce platforms in the UK.

Shpock APP has also become one of the most popular mobile applications in the European market, often ranking first in the Google Play and Apple App stores in the UK, Germany and Austria.

The name is the same as Shpock, which is a combination of the two words. Shop in your pocket means “flea market in your pocket”. The platform has been adhering to its founding concept and continuously expanding its business scope to help sellers and buyers establish a convenient transaction model. The brand goal is to make the sale of goods simple, so the Shpock APP interface is also designed to be very simple and direct.

Shpock account registration process

There are two ways to register an account:

1. Support Facebook and Google account login and registration

Go to the Shpock official website, click "Register" in the upper right corner, then select "Continue with Facebook or Google" and authorize to successfully register. Users who register through this method should note that if they register using Facebook, every time they sell a product, Facebook will display the user and his friends' sales activity on the Shpock platform.

2. Register via email

When registering, users need to provide an email account and phone number. When clicking on the registration button, they need to confirm the link sent by the platform via SMS, etc. After confirmation, the account can be activated.

For sellers, selling products on Shpock is completely free, with no commissions or listing fees. The sales process is relatively simple and is usually conducted in a C2C manner.

What do sellers need to do?

1. Upload product photos and add product titles and detailed descriptions;

2. Select product categories and identify potential buyers;

3. Set the actual price;

4. Answer questions related to buyers’ quotations;

5. Once both parties confirm the transaction, the parcel can be delivered offline or, for convenience, can be delivered using Parcel2Go in the Shpock app.

Currently, the Shpock market user experience is being rolled out in phases and will achieve 100% coverage of the UK user base in the new year. The Shpock platform has many product categories. According to the APP data, the popular product categories mainly include: electronic products, fashion, furniture, and daily necessities.

Although there are many products that can be sold, it should be noted that the Shpock platform also provides a list of banned products, and sellers need to pay special attention.

The banned products mainly include:

Products with sexually explicit content;

Weapons (including airguns, soft bullet guns, paintball guns, fireworks, etc.);

Items bearing visible or invisible symbols of illegal organizations (e.g. Nazi memorabilia);

Items that the seller does not yet own (e.g. pre-order items);

Drugs and tobacco products;

alcohol;

Forgery;

Animals (See clause 7 of the Shpock Seller Terms and Conditions)

Food and other perishable items;

Media and other intangible goods, etc.

According to data, Shpock's current user group is mainly concentrated in young shopping groups under the age of 30, so sellers also need to consider more when selling products.
