Fashion retailer C&A enters German e-commerce platform Zalando

According to foreign media reports, Europe's leading fashion retailer C&A will join the Connected Retail program of German fashion online platform Zalando .

 

It is reported that after joining the platform, retailer C&A will enjoy the services provided by the Zalando platform and millions of Zalando platform users.

 

Martijn van der Zee, Chief Merchandising and Buying Officer at C&A Europe, said : In addition to our own online store, the partnership with Zalando further strengthens our omnichannel strategy and consolidates our position as one of Europe’s leading fashion brands . We will be able to offer a wider range of more sustainable products .

 

Zalando, a leading European online fashion and lifestyle platform headquartered in Berlin, is rapidly developing its connected retail network , Connected Retail , which now includes more than 3,000 retailers selling online to millions of Zalando customers.

Carsten Keller, Vice President and Managing Director Direct to Consumer at Zalando Connected Retail, said: “Surpassing 3,000 active stores is an important milestone for Connected Retail and its partners as we shape the future of retail together.

 

Connected Retail is an integral part of Zalando’s platform strategy and has become part of the solution for retailers during the coronavirus crisis . It is currently available for retailers in Germany , the Netherlands , Poland , Spain , Sweden , Norway , Denmark , Finland and Austria .

 

Zalando said stores can easily connect their stock to the platform, where it offers connectivity software, online content, payment services, customer care and dedicated support through a personal account manager and many other services.


In Germany, the most mature market for Connected Retail, Zalando has chosen Hermes as its second operator , providing a more flexible onboarding process for new store partners .

 

Internationally, Connected Retail is developing its ninth market. As of today, retailers in Austria can also connect their stores to the platform and sell to millions of Zalando customers. For all retailers in international markets, commission reductions or discounts are available until March 31, 2021 .

 

Zalando aims to expand its retail partner network to more than 6,000 active stores by the end of 2021, the company said in a media statement .
