Spotlight on logistics: eBay launches new feature to replace Fast 'N Free badge

eBay said that faster shipping speeds and clear delivery dates are important information that consumers pay attention to when they see listings. In order to help sellers clarify the shipping speed and thereby improve sales, eBay will replace the Fast 'N Free badge with a new message that can display the delivery speed in advance, helping consumers more easily identify the products that arrive the fastest.

Prior to this, listings with the Fast 'N Free badge usually had to meet the following conditions: delivery within 4 days, free shipping, delivery coverage to 48 contiguous states in the United States, no default delivery option of "local pickup or freight", and not be listed in the form of a Classified Ad .

The Fast 'N Free badge focuses on listings that will arrive within four business days and does not include other detailed information that buyers need. However, given the current pessimistic logistics situation, these conditions have obviously become less applicable. Therefore, eBay has launched a simpler and more practical design for this feature. The way of evaluating delivery dates has not changed and is still based on the seller's processing time, location and delivery service provided.

However, the announcement also stated that this feature is still under testing and will continue to be changed based on user feedback and field testing.

The announcement stated that sellers do not need to take any action and the eligibility criteria have not changed. Listings displaying the Fast 'N Free badge will be automatically updated with the new message. Sellers only need to continue to offer competitive shipping such as free shipping, same-day or one-day processing, uploading detailed tracking information for items, or expected arrival within four business days to qualify.

In 2020, e-commerce has made great progress all over the world. Not only old e-commerce companies such as Amazon and eBay, but also some e-commerce newcomers have frequently emerged. This has provided a general environment for cross-border e-commerce while also bringing a certain sense of crisis to major e-commerce giants.

Whether it is Amazon, eBay or AliExpress, they are constantly innovating and improving their services to consolidate their position. The new measures launched by eBay this time seem to be another effort to solve the logistics problems that have not improved for a long time in addition to the seller protection measures. It does show concern about logistics issues, and sellers are relatively supportive of this.
