Driven by the increase in small parcel volume, SHEIN and Temu have won another European market

As China's large enterprises continue to expand overseas, China's e-commerce platforms have swept one overseas market after another.

According to Swiss media reports, SHEIN is already one of the online stores with the highest turnover in Switzerland. Now Temu is also joining the group. Logistics providers such as Swiss Post and DPD are also feeling the impact of the increase in parcel deliveries from China.

According to data provided by Swiss Post, the country's small cargo shipments from Asia have been declining since 2018, as more and more Asian traders have set up their own warehouses in Europe. However, due to the rise of Chinese e-commerce platforms such as AliExpress, SHEIN, and Temu, this number has risen in the first half of this year.

AliExpress has always been a popular e-commerce platform in Switzerland, and now SHEIN has also joined the ranks; Temu, which just entered the market this year, is also becoming more and more popular among Swiss consumers. According to Swiss media, whether it is clothing, electronic products or kitchen utensils, these Chinese online shopping platforms can buy them; SHEIN and Temu will also deliver goods to Switzerland in bulk at super low prices.

According to a survey by consulting firm Caparthia , SHEIN's turnover in Switzerland last year reached 65 million Swiss francs. In addition, SHEIN ranked 36th among the top 50 e-commerce platforms with the highest turnover in Switzerland for the first time this year.

AliExpress's performance is even more amazing. Last year, the platform's turnover in Switzerland reached 375 million Swiss francs, ranking seventh among the top 50 platforms with the highest turnover. Although it dropped one place this year to eighth place, its estimated turnover reached 390 million Swiss francs.

Meanwhile, Temu is also on the rise in this market. According to Caparthia , the platform is likely to receive a lot of attention this year, even though it was only launched in Switzerland in May. Like its business model and promotion methods in other regions, Temu in Switzerland is advertising, advertising, advertising, targeting young people and using social platforms as a carrier, and constantly placing advertisements.

In addition to Swiss Post, international express company DPD also said that the number of parcels from China has been increasing since the beginning of this year . DHL 's data also shows that the number of small shipments from Asia has been on the rise in the past two years.
