Alibaba International Station is becoming the first stop for small and medium-sized foreign trade companies to go overseas.
The reporter learned from the 2023 Home Industry High-Quality Growth Summit that since March this year , nearly 3,000 new Zhejiang merchants have opened Ali International Station and officially started their digital foreign trade journey. In the past May and June, the number of Zhejiang merchants newly settled in the international station achieved double-digit month-on-month growth, and the month-on-month growth rate in June reached 45%.

In the past month, the company has received hundreds of inquiries from overseas buyers.
In order to enable more small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises to take the first step in going overseas, in mid-June, Alibaba International Station used new technologies to comprehensively upgrade its basic foreign trade membership product "Export Pass", which will recommend one new business opportunity to new foreign trade merchants every day . At the same time, it will simplify the digital foreign trade store opening process and operational operations, and provide dedicated guidance and rich new merchant growth rights , etc., allowing more merchants to go overseas easily and achieve a new speed of digital foreign trade.
"The overseas buyer population is getting younger, and millennials are gradually becoming decision makers. In North America, 88% of B2B buyers will search for keywords online, and cross-border B2B procurement has become a must." Zhang Jinyin, deputy general manager of Alibaba International Station Zhejiang Region, said that since the launch of the "Digital Foreign Trade New Speed Plan" in May, in order to better serve small and medium-sized enterprises of different types and levels, the International Station has now formed a three-level merchant membership product system from Export Pass, Gold Products to Industry Leaders, providing customized digital foreign trade solutions, especially for new merchants, providing new merchant support rights packages including team building, website building and product distribution, marketing promotion, tool efficiency improvement, capital transactions, logistics fulfillment, business compliance, and all-round growth.
Data shows that since the beginning of this year, high-quality business opportunities on Alibaba International Station have increased by 33% year -on-year . Overseas corporate customers are increasingly inclined to purchase through digital foreign trade platforms, and high-quality business opportunities are shifting online.
At the summit, Yan Jiaying, head of the home industry at Alibaba International Station, interpreted the trend opportunities and category planning in industries such as home gardening, building materials, furniture, lamps, pets, etc. that are of concern to small and medium-sized foreign trade merchants in Zhejiang.
Taking home gardening as an example, in core markets such as North America and Europe, environmental sustainability and smart home are becoming two major trends. On Alibaba International Station, business opportunities such as Tritan water cups , RPET fabric sofa covers , smart flower pots and sleep function pillows have an annual year-on-year growth of about 50% ; in opportunity markets such as South America and Southeast Asia, traditional handicrafts have become one of the popular cross-border categories, and handicrafts such as rattan storage, blown glass vases, hand-painted ceramic cups, and hand-woven blankets have a growth rate of more than 25 % .
