Alibaba International Station: The volume of sea freight containers for online services increased by nearly 200% in the first half of this year

On the afternoon of June 27 , Zhang Kuo, President of Alibaba International Station, revealed at the Global Smart Logistics Summit: In the first half of this year, the volume of sea freight containers through Alibaba International Station's online services increased by nearly 200 % year-on-year , more than doubling the growth rate from last year.

 

Behind the rapid growth is the acceleration of digitalization, which makes the online cross-border logistics experience simpler and more secure. Zhang Kuo introduced that Alibaba International Station has taken three measures to achieve this: 1. Providing more routes and a more standardized product matrix; 2. Using new technologies to make the experience simpler and more secure; 3. In response to the new needs of online overseas buyers, further providing innovative "door-to-door" solutions to optimize the experience of the "last leg" of cross-border logistics.

Ultimately, the convenience of online cross-border logistics has also driven the rapid growth of digital foreign trade itself. In May of this year alone, the online foreign trade transaction volume of Alibaba International Station increased by nearly 30% year-on- year .

 

Specifically, Alibaba International Station has accomplished these three things:

 

First of all, in terms of products, Alibaba International Station provides more abundant cross-border logistics routes and a more standardized logistics product matrix online. Currently, Alibaba International Station has more than 26,000 logistics routes to meet the logistics needs of different industries and timeliness.

 

At present, China's foreign trade industry categories have shown new characteristics. In the field of consumer goods, a series of differentiated innovative products have emerged, and in terms of industrial products, the "new three" represented by electric vehicles, new energy power generation, and energy storage continue to maintain rapid growth. Alibaba International Station's online logistics services are aimed at the new industry characteristics and have launched a richer selection of logistics products.

Secondly, in terms of experience, Alibaba International Station is making full use of new technologies to make cross-border logistics smarter and simpler.

 

In May this year, Alibaba International Station launched the "Global Logistics Tracking Service", which allows intelligent visualization of the entire cross-border logistics process. Therefore, to some extent, the cross-border logistics experience of Alibaba International Station is the same as online shopping, and you can see where the goods are shipped in real time.

 

Recently, Alibaba International Station has also launched an intelligent cross-border logistics solution generation tool. Foreign trade companies only need to enter basic information such as the logistics starting point, destination, product type, quantity, etc. to generate a cross-border logistics solution with one click, which is easier and more convenient to use.

 

These tools have made the logistics experience of Alibaba International Station fully digitalized, and all problems in logistics can be solved with a mobile phone and a few web pages. Now, the logistics products of Alibaba International Station are viewed more than 100,000 times a day .


 

 

Of course, the experience is simple, and enterprises must be able to use it with confidence. To this end, Alibaba International Station has significantly improved the timeliness guarantee service of online cross-border logistics in the past year. Currently, 43 % of the spot orders from Alibaba International Station in core countries will clearly specify the logistics timeliness and provide "delivery compensation" (delivery compensation).   by) to ensure the timeliness of the product.

 

Finally, innovative products are used to solve the new demands of current online overseas buyers for cross-border logistics "door-to-door".

 

In the past, in traditional foreign trade, customers' demand for cross-border logistics was more about "departure" and "arrival", but as more and more overseas buyers tend to use digital methods to purchase online, their preference for logistics services has also changed. Based on platform insights, Alibaba International Station found that more online overseas buyers' logistics needs are actually "door-to-door" services, which means that buyers do not have to worry about any logistics.

 

This requires domestic sellers to consider all aspects of logistics, including various factors after the goods arrive at the port. Therefore, for domestic small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises, although adopting this logistics method can give overseas customers a better experience and facilitate future long-term cooperation, it is obviously more difficult.

 

In this context, Alibaba International Station has launched a "door-to-door" deterministic solution together with more cross-border logistics partners, allowing small and medium-sized enterprises to provide the "door-to-door" services they need to overseas online customers in a simpler and more certain way, making it easier for more small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in global trade.

 

Data shows that currently more than 60 % of small and medium-sized enterprises on Alibaba International Station have begun to use the digital logistics services provided by the platform.
