Amazon previously asked sellers to prepare to switch to the new " Send to Amazon " shipping process as soon as possible. The new process requires sellers to send inventory to Amazon's fulfillment center in advance.
However, after sellers pointed out some issues with the new process , Amazon announced that it would give sellers more time to adjust .
Recently , Amazon said that it has solicited feedback from sellers and will gradually incorporate these suggestions into the new delivery process, and postponed the deadline for the use of the old system :
Sellers now have more time to switch to the new Send to Amazon shipping process . The old shipping process will remain in place until October 16, 2022. Sellers can edit shipments created by the old shipping process until November 29, 2022. Please also note that shipment records from the old shipping process will not be deleted.
It is reported that after Amazon announced in June that it would adopt a new shipping process in the future , sellers expressed resistance and raised a series of questions . They said that this would make the FBA shipping process more complicated and more expensive .
Judging from the seller reviews, it seems that Amazon asks sellers to provide more detailed information about shipments, which is difficult for them to provide.
Here are some feedback from sellers :
“Under current supply chain constraints, we often cannot get all the goods we should ship from suppliers at once , and using a new system will make the whole process more complicated .
“Not knowing your destination before you pack is a big problem.”
“ What happens if your shipment is going to multiple distribution centers and you’ve already packed it? That’s why I continue to use the old system. ”
“The first question we sellers want to know is, if both systems can be used , why not allow both systems to exist at the same time ? Forcing sellers to use one system will only cause negative impact . ”
While many of the sellers commenting appear to be higher volume sellers, an interesting discussion arose when a lower volume seller of used books weighed in on the topic of split shipments (Amazon’s requirement that sellers ship inventory in multiple batches to different fulfillment centers).
He believes that asking small sellers to ship in batches does not make as much sense as large sellers , saying : "For a book, it doesn't matter where it goes. In addition, you will encounter some ridiculous things, such as a $20 book (net revenue of about $12-14) will cost $ 10 or more if it is broken up into batches and shipped to warehouses across the country .
As October approaches, sellers have felt the pressure of stocking up for the holiday sales season and have expressed that they do not want anything else to distract their attention. Amazon FBA |
