eBay to automatically protect seller ratings as snowstorm hits southeastern U.S.

eBay to automatically protect seller ratings as snowstorm hits southeastern U.S.

On the 16th local time , parts of the southeastern United States were hit by a snowstorm , affecting more than 80 million people . Strong winds and heavy snow caused power outages in about 270,000 households and paralyzed traffic .

During this period, many logistics packages could not be delivered in time, and eBay also announced on Monday local time that the platform will automatically protect the "seller rating" .

If the seller is located in an area affected by the snowstorm and the inventory cannot be shipped, eBay recommends that the seller communicate with the buyer in a timely manner and inform them of the logistics impact ; if the seller expects that the goods may be delayed , please extend the listing processing time.

If the seller's business is affected by this delivery , eBay will automatically protect the seller's performance, including overdue shipment rate; package effective tracking rate; "not received goods" orders due to delayed delivery caused by tornadoes ; and orders canceled by the seller himself due to severe storms .

Additionally , eBay said it will automatically remove any neutral or negative feedback regarding delayed deliveries due to storm weather , as well as service metrics ratings related to "item not received" requests.

It should be noted that due to this weather event, cross-border sellers may see delayed shipments on their seller dashboard, but they will be removed before the next seller performance review and sellers do not need to contact customer service.

It is understood that the current snowstorm has caused power outages to more than 270,000 households in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and other states , and the continued snowstorm has also caused frequent traffic accidents in the local area.

According to the National Weather Service, this large-scale winter blizzard is currently advancing towards northern regions such as New York. In addition to the southeastern United States , it has now affected most of the Midwest and the northern East Coast. It is expected that this US blizzard will continue for some time.

The factors caused by extreme weather are beyond our control. Relevant sellers should pay close attention to the impact of the storm in the United States. If the delivery of logistics packages is expected to be affected, please contact the buyer in a timely manner and patiently inform the buyer of the reasons.
