Not long ago, Amazon announced that it provided a new workflow for replenishing inventory to Amazon Logistics (FBA) warehouses, but the feature was opposed by many sellers after it went online .
Amazon announced the new “ Send to Amazon ” feature on August 5 , which Amazon said provides a “faster and simpler way to create shipments to replenish your FBA inventory.” There is no fee and no registration required.
The announcement shows that through " Send to Amazon ", sellers can do the following: 1. Edit the unit quantity after creating the shipment ; 2. Ship small packages or small quantities of packages through Amazon's partnered carriers or the carrier of your choice ; 3. Ship multiple SKUs in one container ; Excel files can be uploaded to create shipments in batches .
However, the feature did not receive positive reviews after it went online, especially in the comments below Amazon's announcement, where most sellers complained that the new process did not make things easier .
Some sellers commented, "Maybe, if one person has to send one ASIN, then the work is easy. But if you need to browse hundreds or thousands of catalogs, it's a nightmare." Some sellers also said: "It still takes weeks for Amazon warehouses to receive products. This is where they need to improve. They should speed up, not me."
Among all the comments, the one with the most likes pointed out in detail the problems with this new process and also gave suggestions for improvement.
“Send to Amazon is inferior to the old workflow because it does not allow merchants to send shipments with multiple expiration dates; it does not allow merchants to configure multiple different types of product packaging per shipment; it often causes crashes when switching between SPD and LTL; the active shipment management interface forces users to modify an existing page instead of allowing users to open a shipment on a separate page; and it often creates significant errors in pallet estimates instead of allowing merchants to set them up up front.”
“Improvement suggestions: Allow merchants to modify all existing case configurations for each SKU without creating an entire workflow (allowing merchants to more easily plan inventory to Amazon); preset packaging configurations for entire pallets per SKU; pre-set declared values for packages on SKUs sent by non-Amazon partnered carriers.”
However , some sellers gave positive comments. For example, one seller wrote: "As a young seller, I like to try new things, and I like the new method after using it. It is easy to ship through the new method . I think the new method can remember the characteristics of my products through the first operation , which is great ! "
From the current perspective, the new " Send to Amazon " process is not perfect. Instead, it has brought some troubles to sellers. We hope that Amazon can optimize and improve it in the future. Amazon FBA Seller |
