Raising prices will result in account suspension, Amazon’s “fair pricing” has caused dissatisfaction among sellers…

Recently, the editor learned from the Amazon official seller forum that some sellers are dissatisfied with Amazon The fair market pricing policy has raised questions and dissatisfaction.

In fact, as early as the 2020 epidemic period, many sellers received official emails from Amazon, saying, "We contacted you because you violated Amazon's fair pricing policy. We hope that sellers will treat customers fairly and not take advantage of the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus..."

At that time, a large number of sellers' sales accounts were blocked and the products in their stores were deleted from the Amazon website. Amazon's fair market pricing policy is intended to ensure that sellers do not use price hikes to make up for their losses, reduce sellers' arbitrary price hikes that harm buyers' interests, and maintain customers' shopping experience.

But contrary to expectations, Amazon's fair market pricing policy did not achieve the expected results.

"Nameis-Middle-Edward" said, "Fair is to let sellers determine the price of their inventory (this is the capitalist freedom advocated by the United States); unfair is to restrict sellers from keeping the price of their products (especially those third-party products within Amazon's fair market pricing policy) and not allow sellers to set their own prices without other sellers."

"Nameis-Middle-Edward" believes that if an item is appreciating and its value is higher than its price, then the market should reflect the actual value of the item, rather than through Amazon's fair market pricing policy. "Maintak" pointed out that "sellers have the power to set prices freely in the open market, but this is deprived in Amazon's private market."

But we all know that Amazon uses a large number of robots for daily maintenance of the platform. The use of robots is intended to combat price gouging and other pricing-related violations by unscrupulous sellers. Robots do play a preventive role to a certain extent, but in the process, there are also problems of interfering with legitimate pricing. And over time, this problem has become more and more obvious in some collectibles.

That is, bots with repricing power hamper sellers’ ability to price many items appropriately. Unfortunately, Amazon has no solution for this.

And the policy of the Amazon platform is that any seller who does not get the best pricing for the product cannot make a profit. And the best pricing includes the highest discount based on quantity and product price and other currencies deducted from the invoice. So, the moment a seller sells a product on Amazon, you have already paid the price.
