Recently, Amazon has been engaged in a fierce price war. Coupled with the inventory capacity limit, many sellers have started clearance sales. Both new and old sellers have joined the battle, making the industry chaotic. In this situation, Amazon has actually launched a new inventory liquidation plan. Is it to help sellers clear their inventory?
Een.com learned that Amazon US has released a new announcement about inventory liquidation, and the " FBA " liquidation plan has come out of nowhere. Currently, the plan has been officially launched on Amazon US, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.
The original announcement is as follows ↓ The announcement shows that Amazon provides sellers with a logistics bulk clearance plan to help sellers clean up redundant inventory or goods returned by buyers, prevent waste and recover part of the cost of goods. However, Amazon does not force sellers to use the plan, and sellers can choose voluntarily.
If sellers use the FBA liquidation program, they can recover 5%-10%* of the average selling price of the goods. However , sellers need to be aware that once a clearance order is created and confirmed, it cannot be cancelled . In addition, according to Amazon Global Store, Amazon Germany, France, Italy, and Spain require sellers to activate the VAT Calculation Service ( VCS) before using this program to clear inventory.
After using the liquidation inventory program, the inventory that the seller chooses to liquidate will be sent to wholesale liquidators. The third-party liquidators who help deal with excess inventory have signed a contract with Amazon in advance, and the bulk liquidation products will not be resold directly on Amazon.
Shortly after the announcement, Amazon's inventory liquidation plan became a hot topic, with sellers having mixed reactions to the plan.
Seller A: “Financially, this is the dumbest idea. Why would I let you sell my stuff and get 10%? No one in their right mind would accept that offer.”
Seller B: "I'd rather burn it."
Seller C: “ So stop over -shipping to FBA and then sending it back . ”
Seller D: "I liquidated 2,000 units in total, saving some disposal fees." It seems that Amazon's inventory liquidation plan is still quite controversial. For sellers, the plan is indeed an option to clear inventory, but recycling 5%-10% is of no help at all and seems more like charity.
In addition, sellers also need to know that the FBA inventory liquidation program is charged. Starting June 1, 2021, Amazon will charge FBA inventory liquidation fees, which will be incurred when the goods leave the fulfillment center.
Therefore, even if the seller has submitted a liquidation order before June 1, but the inventory is not shipped to the liquidator until June 1 or after, the liquidation fee will still be charged. Amazon in stock Liquidation |
