Amazon to open first fulfillment center in Amarillo, Texas

According to foreign media reports, Amazon plans to open their first distribution center in Amarillo , Texas in early 2022. This distribution center is about 1 million square feet , where Amazon employees will pick, pack and transport large or larger items, such as furniture, outdoor equipment or carpets .

Amarillo is an industrial and commercial city in northwest Texas, the United States, and also a commercial center in northwest Texas , with a population of about 185,000. Amazon's plan will create more than 49,000 indirect jobs in Texas , including construction, logistics and professional services, and will contribute more than $18.8 billion to the gross domestic product .

The distribution center in Amarillo will provide local buyers and sellers with better access to Amazon services.
