Amazon conducts strict inspection! A large number of sellers have been caught

The rule of strict inspection during peak seasons has never failed. From fake orders, to fake reviews, to product review, illegal merger of variants, etc., without exception, sellers may face the risk of account suspension.

Recently, the trend of strict inspections has become even more intense. Sellers have reported that they have received warnings about variant violations, and even worse, their accounts have been blocked and their funds have been frozen ... It can be said that sellers "cannot escape this disaster" this year.

Amazon is strictly investigating illegal variants, and some sellers have had their accounts blocked

As we all know, merging variants has a great effect on increasing product sales. Sellers often use this to "use old products to promote new ones" and improve product reviews and rankings in search results. In recent years, merging variants has become a basic operation for sellers, but some sellers do not properly operate the variants.

Under the compliance trend, sellers will engage in unauthorized behaviors, and reckoning will naturally come as expected.

Since last year, Amazon has started to strictly investigate the abuse of variants and has already eliminated a large number of sellers who abused variants. In January and February of this year, a small number of sellers reported that their links were checked and received variant warnings. Recently, a large number of sellers have been caught and received red warning emails from Amazon↓

The email mentioned that "your seller account has been deactivated because one or more ASIN variations created by the seller violated the ASIN creation policy." The suspension email undoubtedly dealt a heavy blow to the seller. Due to the variation violation, the seller's account was blocked, all listings were cleared, and even the 3 million balance in the account was frozen.

The seller was also quite helpless about this: "We just changed the information of product A to product B. It's the same category but not the same form." I didn't think so much at the time, but the accidents were not sporadic. The seller bound the variant to the small size, but in the end it was the large size that was blocked. Another seller who received a performance notification also felt that the main category only had color & size, but the variant belonged to color & shape, which was also forced to be split by Amazon.

According to the seller, he had frequently performed splits and mergers in the past without any problems, but variant errors had frequently occurred during recent operations. Fortunately, his appeals were successfully approved after receiving two warning letters.

The sellers who didn’t take it seriously continued to merge the variants according to the previous operation, but this time they directly received an email from Amazon to block their accounts. They said frankly that Amazon had stepped up its rectification efforts. After all, there were sellers who had received 8 warning letters before but their accounts had not been blocked.

Yellow warning, difficult to appeal, colleagues: Don't run into the gun

In fact, the above-mentioned sellers’ illegal variations are not isolated cases. There are many non-compliant situations, such as merging zombie links to obtain reviews, incorrectly naming variation themes, adding ASINs that have not been sold for a long time to variations, manually adding attributes that do not originally belong to the item as variation attributes, inconsistent sub-product images, and changing the parent product details page.

As more and more sellers have problems, Amazon has begun to crack down on variant violations. Some sellers have even suffered multiple performance losses and received yellow warnings

Received 2 times, performance checked twice.

I received a performance letter for the third time and the store warning turned yellow.

My normal variant was also swept away, this wave was strong enough.

The old connection in Canada has been checked. Let's remove the offending child first.

My account was not blocked seven or eight times before, but this time, it just ran into trouble ...

Merging variants has always been a common practice in the cross-border industry. Some sellers believe that it is okay to receive a few performance notices for variant violations. They just watch videos and do exercises. They usually stop violating variants when they reach the stage of writing a PoA. However, Amazon seems to have increased its crackdown on variant violations and has started to block accounts at any time, which has made many sellers cautious.

"I have received two warnings and I am worried that my store will be closed if I continue," said a seller. It is reported that the first time the seller was warned was when he merged a product's accessories using the style variant type; the second time was when he removed the product accessories and merged it using the size variant type, and then adjusted the variant name of a variant, and was directly warned.

Although the two warnings were eliminated by ticking submission, training and answering questions, the performance also dropped to 232. Considering the current situation of many sellers, sellers are worried that they will be blocked if they violate the rules and merge variants in the future. In this regard, a colleague said: "My account has also been blocked. Recently, Amazon is cracking down on variant violations." If the account score is too low, the store will be shut down if it cannot withstand a few performance warnings. Sellers should not seek death in the near future.

In addition, the appeal for variant violation has become stricter than before. Some sellers said frankly: Amazon has very strict requirements for new accounts. If a new account is blocked due to variant violation, it is unlikely to get the account and funds back by appealing alone. If the first appeal fails, the difficulty of subsequent appeals will continue to increase.

There are many different types of violations. How can sellers find the right solution?

At present, the situation is different because most sellers have received performance warnings. Combining the sellers' feedback and Amazon's official information, when receiving a variant warning, sellers can judge by the following situations and take appropriate measures

The variants are split, but the ASIN sales are not affected. There is no violation record and appeal button on the account status page. Sellers can find out the reason for the split according to the variant rules, and for the split sub -ASIN, form the correct variant or sell it as a single product. For other variants, you can also conduct self-inspection according to the reasons given and make modifications in advance. In this case, there is usually no need to submit an appeal.

The variants are split, the ASIN is unsalable, and there is a violation record and an appeal button. Sellers can determine the problem based on the performance notification. If there is indeed a violation, they can correct the violation variant and appeal to Amazon to eliminate the violation record. Of course, another situation is that the platform misjudged, and the seller can appeal on the grounds of misjudgment.

The variants are split, the account is closed, and there are violation records and appeal buttons. This is the most serious situation. The store is closed, and the performance notification issued by the platform will not give the specific problems. The seller needs to check the ASIN that is the source of the problem. If it cannot be found, the seller needs to check all the variants in the account and refer to the relevant policies for investigation. The potential problems found need to be corrected in time; you can contact the sales partner to check if there are any problems with the variants; contact the account status protection plan directly on the seller platform to try to seek help and submit a POA appeal. But if the zombie links are merged, it will be difficult for the seller to appeal back.

Amazon's crackdown on violations is obvious to all, but many sellers still take risks for money, and are warned or blocked. The editor would like to remind sellers not to take the chance of violating the rules, after all, compliance is the main theme.
