Kuala Lumpur football fans are in for a treat! Cainiao relies on the three weekly charter flights from Hangzhou to Kuala Lumpur, and has opened a special "first-class cabin" for Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs. Up to 75 tons of live crabs can be transported from Hangzhou to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia every week, with a 5-hour direct flight, and fresh packaging throughout the journey. Compensation will be provided for necrosis within the time limit.
The entire transportation process from domestic to overseas is strictly controlled by Cainiao, providing "constant temperature all day, cold chain throughout the process" services for hairy crabs.
In the early morning of November 23, local crab farmers in Yangcheng Lake began to cast nets to catch hairy crabs. After simple processing and bundling, they were delivered to Hangzhou Cargo Terminal by Cainiao cold chain vehicles that afternoon. After customs clearance, they were sent to the exclusive fresh cold storage of the cargo terminal for temporary storage. On the morning of the 24th, this batch of hairy crabs took a Cainiao charter flight and landed at Kuala Lumpur Airport 5 hours later, and could be served on consumers' tables that evening.
"When I opened the box, I saw that the hairy crabs were still alive. I caught them and steamed them directly. The meat is delicious and has no fishy smell. It is very popular among local Chinese diners." Samantha is the owner of a Chinese restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. Taking advantage of the World Cup, she temporarily purchased a large number of Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs and turned on the TV in the restaurant, making the Chinese restaurant a "hot spot" for local Chinese to watch the game and taste crabs.
Statistics show that the loss of fresh products in China is about 20%-30%, and the losses occur in the origin, storage and transportation, and "last mile" delivery. Cross-border cold chain transportation involves customs declaration, inspection and quarantine, and the conversion of many different sites and transportation tools, which increases the difficulty of transporting hairy crabs.
The person in charge of Cainiao International's Southeast Asia trunk line told reporters that hairy crabs are another attempt by Cainiao in Southeast Asia after the transportation of blue crabs last year. It hopes to open up a cross-border logistics channel with high timeliness and certainty in the fresh food industry. The "air-truck" multimodal transport connection method used by Cainiao has improved the efficiency of the entire process of hairy crab collection, transfer, transportation and dispatch by more than 30%, and escorted the "full freshness" of Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs.
It is understood that Cainiao currently operates three all-cargo flights per week between Hangzhou and Kuala Lumpur, based on the East China market, serving the e-commerce and fresh food industry belts in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. In addition, relying on the card class transit service established by Cainiao in Hangzhou, the return charter flight to Kuala Lumpur can be transported by Cainiao to major ports across the country such as Shanghai, Qingdao, Changsha and Guangzhou after transiting through Hangzhou.
