In the smartwatch space, according to the latest research from Counterpoint’s IoT Service, the smartwatch market in India grew more than four times in the second quarter of 2022, driven by growing consumer interest in smartwatches as accessories and fitness trackers.

As India's 5G pace gathers pace, more smartwatch models are flooding the market, with more than 300 smartwatches sold in this quarter, the highest number ever.

Low-end smartwatches continue to attract more competition as half of the models retail for less than 3,500 rupees ($44).

As the country prepares to enter the 5G era this year after a successful 5G spectrum auction, this trend will be further intensified as more and more consumers choose 5G phones and smartwatches .
