Cumulative downloads exceed 30 million, and the Korean women's e-commerce platform ZigZag has achieved gratifying results

The online fashion industry in Korea has been very busy recently! The Korean women 's shopping app " ZigZag " operated by fashion technology company Crokie.com has surpassed 30 million cumulative downloads for the first time among fashion apps .

ZigZag was launched in 2015 and is characterized by the use of artificial intelligence ( AI) technology to provide personalized product recommendation services . When new users select what they want from the various coordinated style photos provided by ZigZag, the recommended shopping malls and products will be sorted accordingly. If you click and hold on a specific product, you can see another 100 most similar products of the same type .

Generally speaking, in the clothing industry, the demand for women's clothing is more active than that for men's clothing. ZigZag is very popular among women aged 10 to 20 years old because of its fashionable products with good quality and low prices .

As of the end of last year, ZigZag had approximately 4,000 sellers and 3 million active users per month , and achieved a transaction volume of 750 billion won last year .

According to the latest news from Korea Business Daily, South Korean instant messaging giant Kakao plans to split Kakao Commerce's fashion business and merge it with Croki.com, which operates the women's clothing platform ZigZag. The combined company will be merged as a subsidiary of Kakao on July 1.

Earlier this month, SSG.com, a shopping mall owned by South Korea's Shinsegae Group, acquired the women's clothing platform W Concept.

In addition to the participation of large companies such as Kakao and Shinsegae, online women's clothing platform Brandy also attracted an investment totaling 10 billion won from KDB Development Bank on the 16th .

Therefore, some industry insiders predict that the distribution technology and technical strength of large companies such as Kakao and New World will be combined with the big data of Internet platforms to achieve aggressive expansion in the online market.

However, some people also pointed out that if online clothing platforms enter the sphere of influence of large enterprises, they will be constrained to a certain extent and may find it difficult to respond to the market as quickly as before . Today, the online fashion industry in South Korea is surging, and its final development is still unknown. Everything will be determined by the market and consumers.
