Akulaku platform provides Paylater service to 6 million users

Akulaku, an Indonesian installment payment platform , said it has provided Paylater services to 6 million users . Akulaku is optimistic that the services provided by the platform will become more and more popular among consumers.

Efrinal Sinaga, Indonesia's financial director , said that the team 's financing in 2020 increased by more than 40% , and the generation of this data was directly related to the payleter service .

In a March 9 press release, Efrinal Sinaga said: Amid the economic challenges brought on by the pandemic, Akulaku has been able to integrate and consolidate various functions to meet the various needs of consumers, and the Paylater function has provided services to the platform’s 6 million users .

Efrinal Sinaga explained that Paylater services have partnered with major e-commerce platforms in Indonesia , such as Bukalapak , Shopee , Blibli , JD.ID , etc.

Data shows that the global Paylater market share is expected to reach US$33.6 billion in 2027 , with an annual growth rate of 21.2%. At the same time, with the increasing popularity of the Internet and the increasing use of smartphones in countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Paylater will also develop more rapidly .

Efrinal Sinaga pointed out that there are many factors that can accelerate the development of Paylater , one of which is the change in people’s consumption habits due to the epidemic .

He said : " The emergence of the epidemic has indeed changed all aspects of people's lives, including payment methods and habits . Contactless payment and financial services are becoming more and more popular. "

He also said : More and more users are using Paylater , not only because it is safe enough during the epidemic, but also because contactless payment allows users to feel the convenience of not carrying cash . In addition, in Indonesia, many people do not have enough savings to meet their consumption needs, and Paylater services can meet this need. "

It is worth mentioning that the Internet penetration rate of up to 75%, the huge demographic dividend and telecommunications infrastructure have laid a solid foundation for the development of Paylater's services. Paylater cooperates with multiple e-commerce platforms and is also able to fulfill its commitment to inclusive finance in Indonesia.

It is reported that the Akulaku platform currently has more than 13 million registered users, with more than 1 million new users in a single month, and the annual transaction volume has reached US$1.5 billion, which is a very impressive result.
