What is ASOS & ASOS Review

ASOS (As Seen On Screen) is a global online retailer of fashion apparel and beauty products founded in 2000. ASOS's own brand, created by London designers, works with third-party brands around the world to provide fashionable products for young people.

Name explanation

ASOS is the abbreviation of the English word “as seen on screen”, which means “the same as what you see on the screen” in Chinese.

About ASOS

ASOS has more than 85,000 product lines in women's wear, men's wear, footwear, accessories, jewelry and beauty, launches more than 4,500 new products every week, has 19.8 million unique visits per month, has more than 11.15 million registered users, and 6.02 million active users. It offers more than 60,000 products, creates its own brands, and sells more than 800 designer brands.

·The ASOS China exclusive website is the 8th regional website launched by ASOS in the world, in addition to the UK website. Other regional websites include the United States, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia. While adhering to the British gene of the brand, ASOS China has tailored a model that is completely different from other regions in terms of payment methods, logistics and even web design in order to meet the online shopping habits of Chinese consumers.

Section Division

ASOS is divided into two major sections: ASOS self-operated area (including its own brand ASOS and other mainstream brands) and ASOS Marketplace (that is, independent designer brands). Please note that it seems that you need to register accounts separately for the two areas.

China Market

ASOS has been operating poorly in China since it established its Chinese website in 2013. After two and a half years of trial, it suffered consecutive losses in the domestic market. Over the past few years, its business in China has lost a total of nearly 8.6 million euros. In June 2016, British online retailer ASOS withdrew from its Tmall flagship store, which also meant that they officially withdrew from the Chinese market.
